Roo Code integration
Set up the Roo Code agent in VS Code with Modellane as an OpenAI Compatible provider and a model that supports tool calls.
Roo Code reaches Modellane through its OpenAI Compatible provider. Fill in the base URL, key and model id in its settings.
Roo Code is a coding agent for VS Code. It connects to Modellane through its OpenAI Compatible provider, which uses the Chat Completions API (POST /v1/chat/completions).
Configure Roo Code#
- Open the Roo Code panel and its settings.
- Set API Provider to OpenAI Compatible.
- Fill in the fields:

- In the model options, set Context Window and Max Output Tokens to the values from the models table. Turn on Image Support only for models that list Vision.
- Save the settings.
Verify#
Start a task with a short prompt such as "Reply with the word ready." A reply means the settings are right. An authentication error points at the key, and model_not_found at the model id.
