OpenHands integration
Configure OpenHands to use Modellane in its advanced LLM settings with a custom model name, base URL and API key.
OpenHands accepts any OpenAI-compatible endpoint in its advanced LLM settings. Enter the model with the openai/ prefix, the base URL and your key.
OpenHands is an open-source platform for software development agents. It reaches OpenAI-compatible APIs through LiteLLM and calls the Chat Completions API (POST /v1/chat/completions).
Configure the model#
- Open Settings and the LLM tab.
- Turn on Advanced options.
- Fill in the fields:
| Param | Value |
|---|---|
Custom Model | openai/lane-1 |
Base URL | https://usemodellane.com/v1 |
API Key | A key from API keys |
- Save the settings.
The openai/ prefix tells LiteLLM to use the OpenAI-compatible base URL; the model id that reaches Modellane is the part after it. Use any id from Models & pricing, preferably one that lists Tool calls and a long context, since the agent works through tools.
If you run OpenHands from source in development mode, the same values go in the [llm] section of config.toml:
TOML
[llm]
model = "openai/lane-1"
api_key = "your-api-key"
base_url = "https://usemodellane.com/v1"Verify#
Start a conversation and send "Reply with the word ready." A reply means the settings are right. An authentication error points at the key, and model_not_found at the model id.
