Kilo Code integration
Add Modellane to Kilo Code as a custom OpenAI-compatible provider with the base URL, your API key and the models you want.
Kilo Code accepts custom OpenAI-compatible providers. Add Modellane once in its provider settings and choose a model in the chat.
Kilo Code is an open-source coding agent for VS Code and other editors. It accepts custom OpenAI-compatible providers, which call the Chat Completions API (POST /v1/chat/completions).
Add the provider#
- Open the Kilo Code settings (gear icon) and go to Providers.
- Scroll down and add a Custom provider.
- Fill in the fields:

Kilo Code can fetch the model ids from GET /v1/models, or you can type them by hand from Models & pricing. Add only the models you plan to use.
- Save, then pick the Modellane model in the chat's model menu.
Verify#
Send a short prompt such as "Reply with the word ready." A reply means the provider works. An authentication error points at the key, and model_not_found at the model id.
